The prisoners of Kurigram Prison have begun to reap the benefits of the July Revolution.

After the fall of the fascist government through student and public movements, the prison security system collapsed, leading to a situation of stagnation. Like many other places, Kurigram Prison also faced a security crisis. The Bangladesh Army stepped in to help resolve the crisis.

In addition to the prison guards, nine army personnel, divided into four shifts, provided security throughout the prison, starting from the prison gate. It is also reported that attempts were made to eliminate various irregularities inside the prison before August 5. In this context, Captain Safayet Hossain, commander of the army’s Kurigram camp, said, “After August 5, the country’s prisons became unsafe. The Bangladesh Army has adopted efficient security measures.” In addition, we are monitoring all aspects of irregularities inside the prison, food quality checks, cleanliness, etc. We are working 24 hours a day to ensure law and order, drug control, and public safety in the district.
